If you have Charge Assist enabled for your Toyota or Lexus EV, WeaveGrid will manage your home charging. When creating a schedule, WeaveGrid prioritizes the following goals in order:
- Get your car charged to your target battery level by the time you need it, respecting any advanced features you’ve enabled
- Charge at the lowest-cost times*
- Charge when energy generation is cheapest or when the electric grid stress is lowest
*WeaveGrid will optimize your charging within your off-peak windows as long as there’s enough time to reach your target battery level before your set departure time.
If you enroll in Charge Assist, then switch to ECO Charging or Manual Scheduling in the ‘Schedule’ section of your Toyota or Lexus app, Charge Assist will be disabled.
If you accidentally disable Charge Assist but want to continue receiving your $10 a month bill credit and automatic smart charging schedules, complete the following steps:
- Open your Toyota/Lexus app
- Navigate to your vehicle
- Access the Schedule function
- Ensure that Charge Assist is enabled and selected as your scheduling option.
Failure to enable Charge Assist and allow WeaveGrid to manage your charge may result in being exited from BGE’s Smart Charge Management program.
