Once your vehicle is registered through GM Energy’s Smart Charging Portal and you've successfully enrolled in a program with WeaveGrid and your utility, your charging will be optimally scheduled each time you plug in at home.
How it works
When you plug in at home, an automatic smart charging schedule will be created for your vehicle based on:
- Your vehicle’s current battery level
- Your desired Daily Charge Completion Times
- Your electricity rate (set by your utility)
- Grid conditions
After the charging schedule is created for your vehicle, you will receive a push notification from your GM brand app with your schedule’s details.
Please note that your vehicle must be in ‘Charge Now’ mode to accept schedules. If your vehicle is in ‘Charge Later’ mode, you will have to adjust it by updating the setting in your vehicle to receive automatic smart charging schedules.
Managing your Charge preferences
- Daily Charge Completion Times: The time you need your vehicle charged and ready.
You can manage this setting directly in GM Energy’s Smart Charging Portal.
How to override
To start charging immediately, you can always override your optimized program schedule.
