When you shift a portion of your home charging to hours outside your smart schedule optimized by WeaveGrid, you will receive a lower daily smart charging score. An override will occur when 50% or more of your at-home charging on a particular calendar day occurs outside WeaveGrid’s optimized schedule.
Therefore, overriding your WeaveGrid schedule results in a greater likelihood of not meeting the daily 50% threshold and registering an override for that day. Overriding includes:
- Starting charging directly on your charger or vehicle, through their dedicated apps, or by replying ‘Charge now’ to our Scheduled Charge text.
- Editing the charging schedule directly on your charger or vehicle, or through their dedicated apps, after WeaveGrid has set an optimized schedule.
BGE will notify you via email when you have reached three override days in one month. A maximum of 4 override days per enrolled vehicle or home charging station are permitted per month to remain eligible for the $10/month per enrolled vehicle with a Level 2 charger (240V/2.5kW or higher). BGE will notify you via email once you have exceeded the monthly override limit, and you will not receive the bill credit for that month.
To reduce the likelihood of recording override, we recommend:
- Only overriding your charge schedule if needed for immediate transportation needs
Plugging your car in every day - Reviewing your Target Battery Level and Depart By settings to align with your needs (Visit your dashboard to set your Departure Time for each day of the week and view your Target Battery Level)
